President's Message

Welcome to the Canadian Islamic Centre. The Canadian Islamic Centre (Al Rashid Mosque) is an established religious and educational institution, and constantly evolving in a many new and innovative directions.

I would like to thank the community members for their constant support and volunteering in various forms of support. The Islamic community has been responsible for the financial support which led to the building of the largest and most innovating Islamic School in North America, a state of the art building that accommodates over 750 students. The historical moment of Edmonton Islamic community, was the actual commencement of classes this October in this monument to Islamic education and perseverance.

Al-Rashid Mosque has gone through many changes, not only including this newly implemented structure, but a new Presidential Council as well as the formation of a Social Congress. The process of change also includes the formation and review of committees, programs, and services. Alhamdullilah all these reflect on the future of Al-Rashid Mosque. We are also fortunate to host visiting Islamic Scholars, not only from Canada but also from various overseas nations and countries.

The Canadian Islamic Centre (Al- Rashid Mosque) also extends its services by forging new and productive liaisons with established government and on governmental agencies in and around the Edmonton area, and this gives us the ability to assist in the greater community. We are thus confident that the Institution of Al-Rashid Islamic Centre will excel and become the greatest community institution in North America.

We are committed to our Mission statement, which is to provide the Muslim community in and around Edmonton area with religious, educational, cultural, and social services; and positively contributes to society.
